How to Setup Google Public DNS on your Computer

Posted on December 4, 2009 by MidaNo Comments

Google today launched their own DNS service its called public DNS service its Similar to OpenDNS. Usually ISP will provide you with their own DNS servers but there are many reasons to switch to another DNS server for instance Censorship and country restrictions some countries  or companies use DNS servers to block access to some websites on the internet. but this is consider weak block and you can easily bypass by changing to another public DNS servers like OpenDNS or Google public DNS.

Performance is another reason to switch to another DNS servers some ISPs DNS servers not that great and not optimized for faster web surfing not to mention the outdated caching.

Google promise that you will experience a faster browsing experience but as they just launched this service i noticed Performance issus slow down and time out on some websites. so the result is against Google at this time but i expect in the next few weeks Google will improve this DNS servers performance and we will get what they promised us a faster browsing experience .
