How To Encrypt Your Files from the Right-click Menu in Vista
Posted on October 30, 2008 by admin
Do you run multiple user accounts with Vista and share your computer with them? if you do and you have data you want to hide from them you can encrypt these files so only you can access them.
This is registry tick to add shortcut to the Right-click menu in vista to quickly encrypt your files.
- Open start menu then choose run and type regedit, Or (press Winkey+R)
- Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
- Create a new DWORD value and name it EncryptionContextMenu and set the value to 1
- Restart your computer.
Noticed the encrypted files or folders will changed into green as soon as you encrypt it.
