for some reason Microsoft disabled vista boot screen by default
if you want to enable it again that is easy to do
open start then choose run type msconfig then choose the boot tab
check the option no GUI Boot then click ok
the next time you restart your computer you will see vista boot screen

Why’d MS have to go and change the boot screen? They totally re-did enough stuff on Vista to confuse most people, but they probably had some (seemingly) logical reason for that.
The boot screen though? C’mon…
