How To Bypass Your ISP And/or Your Country Restrictions

Posted on February 13, 2009 by admin49 Comments

“Site is blocked”, “the administrator has blocked this site”, “Error 403 Forbidden Unauthorized”. All of this is just example of the frustrated error messages you get if you were trying to access website that has been blocked, may be you at work and the administrator is blocking some cretin sites, or may be your ISP does, or may be more evil some Country restrictions and they has blocked almost all popular websites, sites they think its content does not follow there political view. or religion beliefs.

For example if you ever went or lived in chain you probably noticed that they has blocked so many sites there, another example in some Arab countries were they has blocked almost all pornographically websites, ok i understand that there is some sort of religions s beliefs that forbidden these kind of content, but blocking sites like youtub.com , or services lie VOIP, come on it’s really getting silly here, why would they do that?

It does not stop on that, some ISPs is manipulating BitTorrent traffic aka(throttling P2P traffic), the ongoing war between copyright pirates and authorities.

Net Neutrality is another form of Internet restriction that some authorities trying to do, later in 2008 comcast one of the most popular ISP in usa has limited the monthly bandwidth for its users, and put 250 GB monthly cap.

Anyway it really does not matter here why your ISP/country/work/school has limited access to some websites and services on the Internet, what is really important is how to Bypass this Restriction, let’s see how you can do this.

Proxy sites

One of the most popular methods to bypass Restriction and access blocked websites,But its limited which means you can only use proxy sites at work place, school, were only few websites has been blocked, there is nothing more proxy sites can do like bypass your ISP BitTorrent throttling, or unblock VOIP services, that is why its limited.

So if your ISP/Country has some Restriction on some websites, and service proxy sites is really poor option to bypass this Restriction, what you really need is some sort of way to bypass this restriction

VPN if you have never heard of it you going to love it why? because VPN allow you to completly bypass your ISP/Country Restriction, But first what does VPN means?

VPN is a computer network in which some of the links between nodes are carried by virtual circuits in  the Internet, in other words VPN is like tunnel to another network using the internet, so it allow you to virtual connect to another network using path and that path is carried on the internet.

vpn diagram vertical shorte 135x300 How To Bypass Your ISP And/or Your Country Restrictions

But what this has to do with  bypass ISP Restriction ? right because VPN allow you to connect to another network using the internet as path or tunnel, you can use this to bypass your ISP Restriction, and your ISP can’t tell which sites or serivces you are using bsically because your just using tunnel to another network and doing other thins on that network, so you can broswe blocked websites, unblock serivce like VOIP, prevent your ISP from manipulating BitTorrent traffic.

It that all? no when it comes to VPN we must talk about security, depends on the VPN type some VPN has encryption 128-2048, this gives you Full anonymity online by hiding your real IP and Protection against your ISP, they really can’t tell what you doing online.

Benefits of using VPN?

  • Assigns your computer a new IP address, hides your real IP to anonymize all web applications.
  • Security for Hotspot Wireless Access Users (Wi-Fi) connection.
  • Bypass Skype and other VOIP blocked in your area or by your ISP.
  • Bypass blocked websites (that have blocked you or your country/geographical region).
  • Security & anonymity with a secure encrypted connection between your computer and the Internet.
  • Virtual Firewall — Attacks are often directed at a known IP address.
  • Anonymizes you at work or at school even behind restrictive firewalls.
  • Easy online ordering when you travel – Many order forms on the Internet will automatically block certain countries from even ordering.

So how much VPN costs? not really actually about $5 – 20 monthly depends on the VPN provider and the VPN type, Where can you find VPN providers? A great list of VPN services providers and nice comparison too .

There are many how can i choose? well i’v tried almost every VPN provider over the last two years, and i couldn’t find anyone better than StrongVPN not only they offer great VPN service but also they has great customers support to answer all your questions 24/7 support is something you can’t find with other providers.

Also they offer OpeVPN the amazing OpenVPN service offers 2048-bit strong encryption via SSL/TLS protocol, which is stronger and harder to your ISP to detect.

So if you ever considering buying VPN service i highly recommend that you buy StrongVPN.
